This page checks BlueStreamFly's 459 river reports in 38 states. It does not cover every trout stream, river, or sensor in the country. The list includes trout, steelhead, salmon, mixed, and warmwater reports.
What it means before you fish
The useful question is not just “is there a number?” Ask whether the reading comes from your river section and whether it is recent.
A gauge can match the river and still miss a change farther upstream or downstream.
It may show the general trend. It cannot prove water clarity, safe wading, or temperature at your access point.
A river can have a recent flow reading but no recent temperature reading, which matters during summer heat.
What we found
402 reports point to 400 USGS gauges. We have checked the river match for only 45reports so far.

Where uncertainty comes from
A station can be on the right river but still sit below a tributary, reservoir, diversion, or the reach you plan to fish.
USGS may report stage without discharge, or discharge without current water temperature or turbidity.
State, tribal, university, watershed, hydropower, and local sensors may exist outside this official USGS probe.
Recent USGS observations can be provisional and may change after quality review.
Method and limits
We compared our river list with official USGS station records. “Recent” means the reading was no more than 24 hours old when we checked.

Capture note: a dated official USGS capture was normalized offline to the exact 400 configured stations. No second provider request or numeric observation values were added; fields the earlier capture did not preserve remain blank instead of being inferred.
All 459 river reports appear one time, with no hidden duplicates.
402 reports point to 400 USGS gauges.
Gauge match, link status, reading date, and river section are checked on their own.
A forecast is not measured rain, and a gauge reading does not prove how the fishing will be.
